Government Of Assam Soil Conservation Directorate of Soil Conservation

Human Resources Development of the Department:

To develop the Human Resource Soil Conservation Department has sent officials or staff  to different training courses in order to get acquainted with the modern technology and recent development of the related works. Soil Conservation Department used to send officers for 5 and ½ months training course to Central Soil Water Conservation Research and Training Institute Dehradun. This training commences twice in each year. From the year 2013-14, the above said training course is shortened to 4 months, so that 3 batches of the officers can be trained within the year. Further, due to the fact that Assam Soil Conservation Training School at Mahur is now non functional due to the occupation of the office buildings of the complex by Army for security reasons. Now the Training School is proposed to shift from Mahurto Gotanagar, Kamrup, so that its normal function can again be restarted.  The department has not been able to provide training to officers and field staff on Soil Conservation matters to the desired level. However department is trying to improve the capacity building of officers.
